TexStyle Manchester
Wow, what a weekend!
I got back from TexStyle Festival last night, and I’m just about recovered now. First of all, thank you so much to the fabulous organisers for putting on such a lovely event, and thank you to all the amazing visitors who came along and made the weekend worthwhile.
From my end, it was a mad scramble to get everything dyed (and dried!) in time for the show. If you had also been driving the M62 on Friday afternoon, you might have seen a little white car zipping past with a dozen skeins hanging from the windows. Fortunately, my hotel room had a powerful heater which helped the final few skeins dry in time for the show’s opening on Saturday morning.
As this was the show’s inaugural festival, none of us knew how it was going to go, but when visitors started flowing through the doors, the whole hall seemed to exhale with relief and excitement. There was a lovely hum of people chatting, colours everywhere, and a great mix of yarn, crafts, and excitement.
Highlights from the weekend:
Meeting so many of you in person - hearing your project plans, seeing your eyes light up when you found the perfect skein, and chatting about colour inspiration was genuinely the best part.
Seeing my yarns out in the wild - tucked into tote bags, paired with patterns, held up to sparkle in the light. It was so wonderful to watch people connect with something that started as an idea in my kitchen.
The atmosphere - warm, welcoming, and genuinely joyful. For a first-time event, it felt incredibly well put together.
If you visited the stand, chatted with me, or took home a skein, thank you! Truly, your support means so much.
As for what’s next…..did someone say mini skeins?
Time to prepare for the next event, Big Vegan Market - 29th March, Left Bank Leeds. See you soon!
